Does article marketing really work? It should, provided you do it right. All article marketing should start with conversion in mind. This is important, so let me repeat that, write articles that have a chance of selling your product and services. Here's the how and the why.
Give out killer content in your articles. The free articles are just the preview to what you are going to offer. When you give out killer content, readers are not just going to trust you, they're go to seriously check out your offers because they recognize you as the expert in that particular niche/industry.
An good example of killer content includes major trends, relevant statistics, a good understanding of the reader's problems, and finally a great solution (insert your product here).
Many marketers fail because they didn't write with the target market in mind. As a result, their marketing efforts fail. They didn't know who to target, so they didn't know what to include in their ad copy or their articles. Don't make that mistake!
I've come across newbie marketers asking this question many times over, "Should I build a really huge list? Or should I focus on a smaller, but more targeted list?" Now if you have something of value to sell, you want your prospects to be as targeted as possible. That's just part of the selling process. A huge list that doesn't convert is practically useless.
Ultimately, the purpose of your articles is to help you sell. So get out there, get those killer articles written, and start publishing them. If you can't write well, hire ghost writers to do it for you.
Now that you have those killer articles written, it's time to start your article marketing campaign. Seek out sites that have list of prospects that you want. You can tell whether these sites have a list or not by looking at their sites to see if they offer a newsletter or ezine.
Next, check the site if they allow you to publish your articles to their newsletter. Some sites charge for publishing the article but in general, most sites will allow you to publish your article, especially if you have a history of publishing killer content! So you see, having good content will help you in your marketing efforts and in turn make you more money.
Oh, and don't forget to mention your product and company along with the rest of the article.
I hope you find this article useful. If you'd like similar articles to be delivered into your inbox, feel free to enter your name and email address in the opt-in list. It's free. You can find it on the homepage of this site.

I re-read this article and have this to add. You can use the same concepts to promote other people's products if you do not have your own products.
If you can write well, you can make other people's products look good. You may then insert your affiliate links (cloaked and tracked if possible) and earn commissions from the free traffic.
